Energy Levels

After mom's full day of treatment yesterday her energy level remained pretty high most of the day. By evening, however we could tell she was getting worn out. The feeding tube got clogged part way thru the night and she was up for a long while trying to get it taken care of. Still, by morning she looked good. This afternoon and evening have been spent mostly laying in the lazy boy love seat. She said she feels kind of like Jaba the Hut from Star Wars cause she's just sitting and not doing a whole lot of moving. Of course she would have to gain all her weight back and then a ton more to qualify. :)
Dad went to the doc again yesterday and got on some heavy duty antibiotics. His health seemed to be going down hill throughout the day yesterday, last night and this morning. Tonight, however, he seems to be doing a lot better. It's interesting how as mom's energy came back over the past few days, his was depleted. But now, they're both on the mend from their bacterial infections.

Dearest Girls,
Thanks for blogging so we can keep track of Karen. Our prayers go up for you Karen, and for Arvel too. So sorry about the sicknesses on top of sickness. Thank goodness for meds...
We miss your sweet smiles and talents and presence here in Laie. We are proud of your courage and attitude and strength. Know that we are with you in this fight. God bless you and keep you. Love, Sherrie and Gil Craig

Dear Karen and family,
I am so sorry that I did not make contact with you, Karen, before you left BYUH. I knew you were having lots of problems and now we know why! I am so sorry to hear all about it, but we know you are the most stalwart and faithful of all and will be able to endure what needs to be done.
Just to let you know, Bob and I, (Elder and Sister Remund) had to return to Utah on Dec. 18 due to my mother's illness and she passed away on Dec. 24th. It was so good to be with her for a few days and help her in her time of need. We had the funeral on Dec. 28 and after taking care of things we flew back to Hawaii on Jan. 5th. So please forgive me for not contacting you sooner. You certainly have been in our thoughts and daily prayers however!
Karen, you are truly one of the most Christ-like individuals we have ever met and it was such a joy to work with you in the Stake R.S. Presidency of the BYUH 3rd Stake. You are missed so much here, but it is wonderful to see your blog and to know that you are being well cared for by your loving family and husband. Please tell Elder Hemenway how much we love and miss him also. Please know that we will follow your blog faithfully and keep you always in our prayers. You always had the answers to all of our problems and we don't know how we will function without you here.
We love you and will keep in touch.
Love, Bob and Vickie Remund
